Happy Thanksgiving!

This year is different and difficult in some ways...with Danny in Iraq and schedules as they are, the Cooks will not be together as a family this year.  I will miss it and hope each of you will have a wonderful time!  I will be with one of my BFF's Polly and then out to Joyce's to meet some Marines.  Being together is my favorite thing!  So Daniel-son I miss you deeply, David I see your pain and disappointment (enjoy the desert, take lots of pics and stay warm!), Jason and Eric you have more family to love and I am blessed to love them too.  Shannon and Steph, you are wonderful daughters (in law) and my grand kids are my 2 favorite little people my Cinderella princess Shelby and my Spiderman hero Jaden...I love you bunches!  My sister Bonnie, I look forward to a great time next week...for some very needed R & R for both of us; thanks Robert for always making it happen.  Tannisha I miss you and look forward to Christmas in AZ!  I do not know what next year will bring, this I know the Lord is gracious and His mercies endure forever!

Rev. Lin McGee, National Chaplain, Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. expressed it so well:

"I am thankful for so many things, I can hardly express them all.   Each day so blessed, so full of life and living, so packed with excitement, joy, and even....  once in awhile....  peace.   May we take time from our busy days this Thanksgiving to pause and call to mind all that we hold dear and are most thankful for.

Many, as we sit  around the table with family, will be thinking of that special loved one serving so far away.  Many will be missing for the first time a loved one who will not be returning home.   So much given......

As military families, may we all unite to call upon the Lord to bless our heroes, bless our homes, and bless one another.  Military families are one family and unique in what they give to sustain the blessings God has given our country.

I believe the following little film will tell the story of how we all feel ~ of the pride that lives within our hearts ~ and of the grateful prayers we all pray: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reDiz5nkxK8

Peace and Hope To Everyone."

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
