Patriotism in the desert!

I spent my birthday in Arizona with family and friends. Got to Skype with Dan. I received this jazzy guitar and trumpet serenade from Dan and Archey! Check it out! Best part is at the very end...don't miss it! If you can't access via facebook link, email me and I'll send the mov file.

Dust storm, "this place looks like Mars!"

The weather in Iraq is hot 116 and could get as high as 130 before summer is over. Dan posted this picture on FB.

Less than 4 months and Dan's unit could be stateside back at Ft Riley KS. December he will be heading to SD for a week. We'll have an open house for all to come see Dan.

The end of a tour is slow and can be harder than the beginning. Real cards and letters are a blessing and much more tangible than FB.

Promotion Day!

Daniel was promoted to Specialist on May 1, 2010. The pinning Ceremony was held at Camp Liberty, Iraq with the 299th Battalion Commander and Command Sergeant Major on May 23^rd.
